Of all the future Star Wars projects announced at Disney Investor Day 2020, The Acolyte remains one of the most mysterious (but it’s gotten more attention than the Lando series and A Droid Story — what happened to them?). We don’t know much about it. But that hasn’t stopped Star Wars fans from speculating heavily about the details, including which characters the show might feature.

This week, The Illuminerdi reported new supposed character details, suggesting the series will focus heavily on users of the dark side of the Force in the final days of The High Republic.

The site reports that Lucasfilm is in the process of casting two new characters: a young girl named Miri and an older man named Paul. Few additional details about these characters were provided in the report, though it was mentioned that Paul would only be part of the series for a limited amount of time. No official sources have confirmed whether or not The Acolyte as a whole will be a limited series.

Previously, Dork Side of the Force has reported on rumors that Amandla Stenberg could be joining the series as a dark side user named Aura. Other reports have leaned even more into the suggestion that the name “acolyte” in the title will have connections to other Star Wars projects.

We do know for certain that The Acolyte will take place at some point during The High Republic, will premiere on Disney+, and has nailed down Leslye Headland as its showrunner. At this time, these are most of the major details that can be officially confirmed.
