Like most new video games, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga isn’t perfect. The gameplay is phenomenal, and there are hundreds of characters to play as and interact with. Not only are some non-playable characters ones that players wish they could use, but some of the game’s glitches break the experience — even if some of those disruptions are quite fun.
A Reddit user recently posted a video showing them accidentally playing as Baby Yoda, even though Grogu isn’t technically a playable character in the game. He does appear alongside Din Djarin (The Mandalorian) if you have the DLC pack, but he really only follows you around as an accessory that doesn’t add anything to the character’s play or combat. But thanks to a glitch in the game, Grogu was indeed (momentarily) playable.
The glitch allowed the player to float around as Grogu in his pram, though they were only able to jump and move around, not confront any enemies.
"playing as Grogu lol from LegoStarWarsVideoGame"
So far, The Skywalker Saga has received mostly high praise from Star Wars fans who picked up the game at or around its record-breaking launch. Story mode is concise yet fulfilling, free play mode gives players more to do and unlock, and the game’s easter eggs and jokes are gifts that seem to keep on giving.
Unlike past games in the franchise, players can also level up the abilities of their playable characters to give them more to work toward. But even gathering the materials necessary to unlock things in the game doesn’t feel like a chore.
It’s unclear whether or not this will be the last game in the LEGO Star Wars franchise. But based on its reception, chances are TT Games and Lucasfilm aren’t finished collaborating on future projects like this one.
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is available now on your favorite gaming platforms, including but not limited to PC, Xbox One and Series S/X, Playstation 4/5, and more.
