Of all the Star Wars TV shows dropping on Disney+ this year, Andor remains one of the most mysterious — but also, apparently, already slated for multiple seasons. There have been rumors that Andor Season 2 is already happening, though nothing official from Lucasfilm or Disney+ has been released. We do know, however, that the series will debut sometime in 2022.

A recent report from Bespin Bulletin suggests that Andor Season 2 will begin filming this November, even though Season 1 still doesn’t technically have a Disney+ release date. The report also suggests that the second installment of the series likely wouldn’t premiere until 2024.

Andor has been on Star Wars fans’ radar since Disney Investor Day 2020, but with The Mandalorian, The Bad Batch, and The Book of Boba Fett dominating Disney+ in the time since then, the show has become one of those “we’ll believe it when we finally see it” projects.

With several updates about casting and filming over the past year, we do know Season 1 is happening. It’s unclear exactly where the Season 2 rumors are coming from, but if the story merits more than 12 episodes, you won’t hear complaints from us.

The series will follow Cassian Andor in the time before Rogue One and has been described as a spy thriller set in a galaxy far, far away. We know Cassian worked as a member of the Rebel Alliance’s intelligence network at one point (you might recognize the codename Fulcrum from Rebels). So we’ll likely learn more about what this “spy network” really looked like — and the things these intelligence officers did to get what they needed in order for the Alliance to succeed.

Andor will star Diego Luna and is expected to arrive on Disney+ sometime in 2022.
