This May, Star Wars fans are expecting more big announcements than ever thanks to Star Wars Celebration. The convention last occurred in 2019 and was postponed in 2020, and is now happening next month. Some major announcements are already leaking — just based on details provided officially by the convention itself. All assumptions thus far, but exciting nonetheless.

Star Wars Celebration announced all of its panels officially today, including one that doesn’t quite confirm rumors of a new animated anthology Star Wars series … but definitely doesn’t strongly suggest the rumors are true.

The panel, titled “Tales of the Jedi” and hosted by Amy Ratcliffe, will also feature special guest Dave Filoni. You know, just the man possibly best known in the Star Wars community for his work on the animated series that have released since Revenge of the Sith.

Additionally, the description for the panel specifies the presentation will be about “‘Tales of the Jedi’ animated anthology shorts.” This is the only information provided aside from where the panel will take place at the convention. But it’s hard to deny, based on the official description, what this means for the long-rumored project.

Previous rumors suggested the series would focus on different stories surrounding members of the Jedi Order. Rumors first started circulating when a gift box sent out to Lucasfilm employees last year included a Tales of the Jedi logo alongside other Lucasfilm shows like Visions and Willow.

Star Wars Celebration Anaheim 2022 takes place from May 26 to May 29 with more guests, panels and more to be announced in the weeks leading up to the event. Stay tuned for more coverage before and during the convention.
