Starwars.com has released amazing new prints to be highlighted at the Star Wars Celebration Art Show and Al Abbazia’s “Reflective Power” steals the show. The first art presented gives us the most powerful message presented throughout Star Wars lore: hope.

“Reflective Power” presents a young girl looking into a tall mirror. She’s wrapped in a scarf, while holding two baton-like items in her hands just as her favorite Force-wielder would hold them. As she looks up into the mirror, Ahsoka looks ahead fiercely determined to take on the world, determined to help those in need and live up to the teachings she was taught as a youngling, despite them failing her during the course of her training.

Why is “Reflective Power” such an emotionally powerful message?

Abbazia speaks to the relationship with his daughter and the importance of his artwork. He says, “My daughter Emily and I came up with the overall concept years ago. She mentioned how great it would be if I created a piece with a child looking up to their hero, feeling confident and empowered.”

Ahsoka is an incredible role model. As a Jedi, she learned the importance of helping those in need. Despite being abandoned by the Jedi Council, she doesn’t abandon her belief of serving others when they need help from an oppressor. How can anyone look at this image and not feel happy and full of hope?

As a parent of two, ages 7 and 9, it’s important to have my kids know that anyone can become the hero they admire. That’s what “Reflective Power” emits. Ahsoka, who is played by Rosario Dawson in The Mandalorian and the upcoming Ahsoka series, gives us a feeling we always yearn for in Star Wars. We want to know there will always be someone to be there to support us. We want to know the good fight will always be fought.

Seeing this little girl look up to Ahsoka in “Reflective Power” gives me that feeling. Hope will always be needed and hope will always prevail. This image is powerful in the fact that these are the feelings I have from glancing at it once. Now, after many different viewings, I wish this were somewhere in my home to permanently look at, including my kids who will be able to hope to become as powerful a figure as Ahsoka is in today’s world.

Abbazia continues, “This art embodies not only every child’s dreams, but also the bond between my daughter and me. I hope ‘Reflective Power’ conveys a sense of wonder, admiration, and endless possibilities in all of us.”

If you’d like to order this print and are attending Star Wars Celebration, “Reflective Power” is currently available to pre-order for pick up at the event.
