By the end of 2022, Star Wars fans will have been treated to a new novel almost every single month of the year. Beginning with The Fallen Star in January, followed by other High Republic stories, Queen’s Hope, and this week’s Brotherhood, creatives are hard at work bringing new Star Wars stories to readers around the world. Today, a new cover for one of this summer’s most anticipated a galaxy far, far away romances was finally unveiled.

This morning, StarWars.com revealed the final cover art for Beth Revis’ The Princess and the Scoundrel, which arrives on physical and digital bookshelves this August.

The Princess and the Scoundrel will tell the story of Han and Leia’s wedding and honeymoon aboard the Halcyon starcruiser. This is the first time their wedding will be the focus of a story in canon; previously, it was only chronicled in Legends.

The cover, created by artist Oliver Cuthbertson, was a dream come true for its producer. “I wrote a list of ‘things I want to do when I grow up’ when I was about 11,” Cuthberson told StarWars.com, “and working on Star Wars book covers was right at the top!”

It wouldn’t be Star Wars, after all, if danger wasn’t at the edge of every celebration throughout the galaxy’s ever-expanding history.

Previously, Revis contributed to Star Wars storytelling through Rebel Rising, the novel that takes place between Jyn Erso being rescued after her mother’s death and the present-day events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. She also wrote short stories in both From A Certain Point of View and From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back anthologies, as well as the Forces of Destiny comic series.

The Princess and the Scoundrel, written by Beth Revis and published by Del Rey Books, is expected to release in hardcover, audio, and ebook formats on August 16, 2022.
