Obi-Wan Kenobi is finally coming to Fortnite

With the premiere of Obi-Wan Kenobi now less than a week away, it’s no surprise that — much like this year’s May the Fourth celebration — everyone is participating in the lead-up to the highly-anticipated Star Wars series. Including the team behind Fortnite.

The game celebrated Star Wars Day by releasing Obi-Wan Kenobi’s lightsaber as part of the game. Now, the creators are kicking things up a notch. The “wandering Jedi” himself is headed to the game — and just in time to (maybe) play as the character while you watch his new show. Again. And again. And again.

Beginning May 26 — the day before the Disney+ series premiere — the Obi-Wan Kenobi Outfit, the Desert Essentials Back Bling (which comes with the outfit), the Obi-Wan’s Blade Pickaxe, the Jedi Interceptor Glider, and Obi-Wan’s Message Emote will all be available in the Fortnite Item Shop. Always dreamed of playing as Kenobi in the game? Your time has finally come.

But that’s not all! Players who compete in the Battle Royale Duos Obi-Wan Kenobi Cup on Sunday, May 22 have the opportunity to earn the Obi-Wan Kenobi Outfit and Desert Essentials Back Bling before everyone else.

While players will have the option to purchase each of the above items individually, buying them together in the Obi-Wan Kenobi Bundle has the added benefit of the Kenobi, Surrounded Loading Screen to keep you company while you wait for your next game to begin.

Fortnite is free to play on your go-to gaming platforms, including PS4/5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android, Xbox One and both Mac and PC operating systems.

Obi-Wan Kenobi stars Ewan McGregor with appearances by Hayden Christensen and Kumail Nanjiani and is directed by Deborah Chow, who previously directed an episode of The Mandalorian. The series is set to premiere May 27, 2022 exclusively on Disney+.
