The Seventh Sister conspicuously absent from Obi-Wan Kenobi
WARNING: This article contains spoilers for episodes 1 and 2 of Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Obi-Wan Kenobi has thrown the gates wide open for inquisitors to appear in live-action, with no less than four appearing in the first two episodes and what appears to be the Fortress Inquisitorius appearing in some of the trailer footage.
The Fortress Inquisitorius is the primary base for all inquisitors, located on Mustafar’s moon Nur, and presumably, virtually all of the inquisitors could appear there. The Fortress Inquisitorius also comes from the video game Star Wars: Fallen Order so who does the Star Wars: Rebel’s primary antagonist the Seventh Sister not appear?
What factors could keep the Seventh Sister out of live-action?
One of the interesting parts of this absence is that inside Star Wars: Rebels the Seventh Sister and Fifth Brother are like Thing One and Thing Two. Where one is, the other is sure to follow.
While they certainly don’t seem romantically connected or even abundantly friendly with each other, they do work fairly well together. And the Fifth Brother has prominently appeared in both of the opening episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi. The Fifth Brother, as portrayed by Sung Kang also appears just as difficult to create into a live-action character as the Seventh sister. Both have a similar level of realistic bodies and virtually identical suits and masks.
The Seventh Sisters also looks as if she was based on the voice actress that voices her. For those familiar with Buffy the Vampire Slayer, you may be surprised to find out that Sarah Michelle Gellar voiced her. Similar to what happened with Bo-Katan and Katee Sackhoff, they could have brought in a fairly experienced actress who would have the correct voice and be able to play the part.
The last factor that makes this situation even more interesting is the fact that there is another female inquisitor that appears in the second episode of Obi-Wan Kenobi. She appears to have a similar build to the Seventh Sister. So far she doesn’t have a name, and It will be interesting to her as we continue to learn her role, and perhaps a reason why she appears in future episodes.
