This post contains SPOILERS for Episode 4 of Obi-Wan Kenobi.

When we last saw Obi-Wan, he was suffering injuries from his former apprentice’s wrath. Leia, elsewhere, stood face-to-face with Third Sister Reva with no hope of escape. Obi-Wan needs healing, and Leia needs rescuing. But time is running out, and the people of The Path can’t stay hidden forever.

As expected, “Part IV” of Obi-Wan Kenobi has proved to be the intense, high-stakes rescue mission Star Wars fans were hoping for. Leia is helpless. Obi-Wan isn’t faring much better after his encounter with Darth Vader. But Leia needs him. To her, he must go.

Pain. Obi-Wan flashes in and out of consciousness as he is transported to safety. But he’s too traumatized to remain trapped in a bacta tank. Against Tala’s wishes, he gets out of the tank before his injuries have time to heal. He needs to find Leia.

The pair confronts another Jedi sympathizer, a smuggler named Roken (O’Shea Jackson Jr.) who revels his wife was a Jedi before the Inquisitors found her. He reluctantly agrees to help Tala and Obi-Wan sneak into the fortress where Leia is being held.

Fortress Inquisitorious, located on the moon of Nur, is much bigger than it looks from the outside. The structure extends down below the water, and the further down you go, the more sinister the situation becomes.

Tala uses her Imperial security clearance to enter the fortress and open a door for Obi-Wan to enter undetected from underwater. Both stealthily make their way further into the fortress, Tala guiding Obi-Wan with access to a map and security console.

Meanwhile, Inquisitor Reva interrogates Leia in an attempt to learn where the leaders of The Path are hiding. The princess does not yield, even after being told Kenobi is dead and there’s no one left to save her. Fed up with Leia’s resistance, Reva has her taken to a different part of the fortress, presumably where stubborn Force-sensitive beings go to die.

Kenobi reaches the area and discovers the bodies of Force-sensitives are being kept in the lower levels of the fortress, like a tomb. Tala creates a distraction that removes Reva from operating the machine Leia has been strapped to, and Leia and Obi-Wan are able to escape.

They’re detected by a sentry droid, however, and the standoff between Reva and Tala is disrupted. Tala and Obi-Wan fight and sneak their way out of the fortress, but Reva catches up to them. All seems lost, until a pair of speeders fires on the platform, freeing the trio once again.

Finally they escape, and Reva manages to avoid Darth Vader’s wrath by promising him she tracked the ship and hasn’t lost Obi-Wan after all. Vader seems to think Reva might be lying, but lets her go anyway.

Back on the ship, Roken learns one of their own was shot down during the escape. Obi-Wan and Leia hold hands, breathing with relief, believing they’ve avoided the worst of things for good.

But it turns out Reva did find a way to track Leia and Kenobi … through LOLA. The tiny droid’s lights flash red. The rebels aren’t safe after all.

New recaps of Obi-Wan Kenobi will be available after each episode airs on Disney+.
