Chris Evans is an actor that is beloved by many. His portrayal of Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe helped to solidify the hero as a household name. To celebrate the release of his most recent film, Lightyear, Evans sat down for an interview with MTV. In it, he revealed that he would “love” to join Star Wars.

The interviewer, Josh Horowitz, pointed out to Evans that he has had roles with two major Disney properties – Marvel and Pixar, yet Evans is yet to appear in Star Wars.

“Yeah, why is there no Star Wars? God, would I love to be in Star Wars!” Evans instantly responded. “God – I mean I would do anything: if I was just a stormtrooper, I’d be thrilled. Later in the conversation, Evans reveals a preferred role, “Yeah, I’ll take a Wookiee though. That’s fine. Just put me in. I’ll do it.”

Evans didn’t say whether he’d like to have a recurring role or simply a cameo. However, other well-known actors have previously had a cameo in the universe, notably Daniel Craig as a First Order stormtrooper in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Even though Evans is tall enough to be a stormtrooper, no doubt fans would love to see him in a more recognisable role.

This isn’t the first time Evans has indicated an interest to appear in a Star Wars project.

In 2019 Collider asked on Twitter which MCU actor fans would like to see appear in the Star Wars film produced by Kevin Feige, Evans simply answered “Me”.

While Evans could have a role in any future Star Wars property, the one produced by Kevin Feige makes the most sense. The pair have already worked closely together throughout Evan’s time in the MCU, so the pair will already have a close relationship.

Fans will have to wait and see if this pans out.
