WARNING: This post contains spoilers for Obi-Wan Kenobi Episode 6.
It is finished. The long-awaited Obi-Wan Kenobi series has reached its end, and we have you covered with a recap of all the things you may have missed (or just want to experience again before you can re-watch it).
Darth Vader and the Grand Inquisitor are still in pursuit of The Path’s transport. They aren’t going to be able to make it to their destination or outrun the enemy. Obi-Wan decides he must once again face Vader, leaving Leia behind with the promise she will be returned home safely. Before he goes, he gives Leia Tala’s empty holster. She doesn’t need a blaster yet; she’s only 10!
On Tatooine, Reva asks where she can find a farmer named Owen. Alerted to the danger, Owen tells Beru they have to run. Beru says she won’t leave her home — they’re going to fight to save Luke no matter the cost.
Obi-Wan and Vader meet again. Obi-Wan has restored his connection with the Force: he’s strong, but so is his enemy. Back on Tatooine, night falls. Owen and Beru tell Luke to hide, and that if anything goes wrong, he needs to run. Reva is coming. They are all in danger.
She confronts Owen and Beru but watches Luke escaping. She runs after him and, once he stumbles, she knows she can do what she needs to do.
Obi-Wan emerges from the rocks and uses the landscape to crack open Vader’s helmet, seeing the face of his former friend for the first time. But the man is no more. Only Vader remains.
Realizing that Anakin Skywalker’s spirit is dead — or that Obi-Wan alone cannot bring him back — he bids the Sith Lord goodbye. Once he boards the ship again, however, he realizes Luke is in danger.
Reva stands over Luke, ready to strike. But seeing his face, she realizes striking him down is not the answer. It will not save her. She brings Luke back to the homestead as soon as Obi-Wan arrives, and he tells her she is free. She can become someone else now. The choice is up to her.
Back on Alderaan, Leia is armed (with her new holster, still empty) and ready to meet her parents’ next visitors. Obi-Wan steps off the transport, and the two say their goodbyes. Obi-Wan outlines all the ways Leia is both like her mother and her father, and tells her that if she ever needs him, she knows how to reach him.
Tatooine, again. Obi-Wan returns to the Lars homestead one last time to tell Owen he’s the only one who needs to protect Luke — he and Beru are all the boy needs now. Owen asks Obi-Wan if he wants to meet the child he’s been watching over all this time.
Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi meet face-to-face for the first — but not the last — time, and we all burst into tears.
Setting off into a distant part of Tatooine, Obi-Wan comes face-to-face with his former master’s Force Ghost for the first time. Now that he has let go of his anger, confronted his fear, and found his hope again, he is able to see what he could not before.
Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon set off into the sunsets, and for now, their story is closed.
