5 questions we have after the Obi-Wan Kenobi finale
By Matthew Roth
The highly-anticipated sixth and final episode from the hit series Obi-Wan Kenobi is finally here! As it wraps up we can’t help but find our selves left with a few questions left to ponder.
The finale brought us the anticipated finale between Master and Padawan. We see Vader and Kenobi square off in what we can only assume is the final time before their fatal Death Star Battle in A New Hope. It also brings us a seemingly satisfying end to Reva’s story and Princess Leia’s involvement. So what now?
1. Where does this leave Obi-Wan for the next 10 years?
While the door is certainly open for a season 2 of Kenobi, we leave the finale with Obi-Wan reuniting with his former master Qui-Gon Jinn. Does he plan to spend the next decade hiding in his cave learning how to master the force or are there anymore adventures for Kenobi to go on throughout the galaxy?
2. What’s next for Reva?
Reva’s story has met a fitting end with her deciding to not kill Luke in the finale and letting go of her hate and regret she has been holding. So does she now go into hiding or will she play a role in building the rebellion?
With rumors of Reva getting her own spinoff, we can’t help but feel this may not be the last we see of fallen Padawan.
3. Has Vader turned a new leaf?
When we leave Vader he is ending his version of a Zoom meeting with his boss Emperor Palpatine where Palpatine scolds him to give up the search for Kenobi and to move on. So this begs the question: What’s next for Vader?
He has lost to his former master now twice and holds no leads into finding him even if he wanted to. Will he spend his time on Mustafar stewing in hate until Rebels or will he be getting his own spinoff?
4. Will Roken join the Rebellion?
As Kenobi bids farewell to Roken and his crew, Roken tells him “I’m just getting started.” Which leads us to believe that there will be more for his story down the road.
Just because we never hear his name again doesn’t mean he hasn’t joined the Rebellion down the line — that is, unless he means to retire to a backwater world instead.
5. Where is Lola?
As Leia has shown us by her reunion with Kenobi in the finale, she is happier to be reunited with Lola her droid companion than to see him alive. What ever happened to L0-LA anyway? Was she left behind when Leia leaped after the Death Star plans?
