With Andor set to release next month news and images of the series have begun to surface. We know that season one will be 12 episodes set during a one year time period setting us up with the character. Season two is where things will begin to get interesting.

Season two will also consist of 12 episodes but, unlike season one these 12 will be set during the four year span leading us into Rogue One.  These five years are set during the height of the Empire’s power so it is sure to leave us with high stakes action that we have yet to see from this angle of the yet to be Rebellion.

Recently show runner Tony Gilroy spoke at Star Wars Celebration 2022 after the debut of the trailer to give us some insight behind what we can expect. ” Directors work in blocks of three episodes, so we did four blocks in season 1 of three episodes each. We looked and said ‘Wow, it’d be really interesting if we come back, and we use each block to represent a year.”

Since season two will be spanning the four year gap we can then expect the first three episodes to be year two, then so on and so forth. While the show will be focused on Diego Luna’s character Cassian Andor, the show will also be introducing Stellan Skarsgard as Luthen and bringing back fan favorite Mon Mothma played by Genevieve O’Reilly. Of course we will also see other characters that were instrumental in the rise of the rebellion as well.

We have seen where these characters end up at in the end and with Disney’s newfound love of filling in gaps of how they arrived to those endings we can be sure that fans are in for a treat. We won’t have to wait long now as Andor is set to arrive on Disney Plus August 31st.
