There are many exciting Star Wars shows coming out in the next few years. One of the more unexpected announcements at this year’s Celebration event was a show called Skeleton Crew.

Not much is known about what this show may become, but there are a few reasons to get excited for its eventual release on Disney+.

Jon Watts

Anyone who loved the style of the recent Spider-Man trilogy will be excited to learn that Jon Watts is at the directorial helm of at least one episode of this new project. He will be joined by writer Christopher Ford, who previously worked with Watts on Spider-Man: Homecoming. Movie Web has reported that the show will be a “Goonies-style” story. Their previous work in the coming-of-age genre suggests Watts and Ford will do a great job bringing this story to life.

Jude Law

There is not much information available about the casting for the show, but we are guaranteed to see one familiar face. Jude Law has appeared in many big projects recently, including the Fantastic Beasts movies and Captain Marvel. Now, he will join the galaxy far, far away in this new adventure. His role is currently unknown, but his fans know he has the acting abilities to play a wonderful hero or villain.

It will focus on children.

The show is set to follow a group of kids around ten years old. If Vivien Lyra Blair’s performance in Obi-Wan Kenobi is any indication of the acting we will see in Skeleton Crew, there is nothing to worry about. However, while it will feature children, it is not necessarily geared towards them. Just as The Clone Wars show’s animated style may have given some people the wrong impression, neither show will be entirely kid friendly.

It’s coming sooner than you think.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is currently expected to premier on Disney+ in 2023, so we won’t have to wait too long before our questions are answered.
