Star Wars comics: What’s new this week?
By Connor Pass
Fans of Star Wars comics should head on down to their local comic shop because two new comics have been released today! Both issues continue currently running series that have made their mark upon the long legacy of Star Wars comics.
Obi-Wan Kenobi No. 3 questions the Jedi’s purpose in the war
First, we have Obi-Wan Kenobi No.3. Fans have just been getting wave after wave of Obi-Wan-related content lately and that continues with the third issue of this new mini-series. We find Obi-Wan in exile on Tatooine as he reflects back on various points during his life. This is a great storytelling method that serves as a clever way to give us some new stories featuring our favorite lightsaber-wielding Jedi. In a preview on starwars.com, we find him reflecting back on the Clone Wars as he ponders just what the Jedi’s purpose in the war was. Not only that but the very real fear of losing the war bubbles to the surface and we see Obi-Wan grappling with that.
Obi-Wan Kenobi No.3 is written by Christopher and illustrated by Alessandro Miracolo, with cover art by Phil Noto.
Doctor Aphra No. 22 gives a glimpse into her internal conflict
Issue 22 of this rebooted series, featuring everyone’s favorite rouge archaeologist, continues the latest storyline where Aphra has become taken over by the Spark Eternal. Now she is trapped in her own mind, desperately trying to find a way to regain control over her own body. Will she be strong enough to overcome its influence or will she be lost forever? If you want to find out you’ll need to get your hands on a copy by heading over to your local comics shop.
Doctor Aphra No.22 is written by Alyssa Wong and illustrated by Minkyu Jung and Natacha Bustos, with cover art by W. Scott Forbes.
