San Diego Comic-Con is one of the largest and most acclaimed fan celebrations out there. Last weekend, the event treated Star Wars fans to a sneak peak of the upcoming show Andor with a display of costumes and the show’s new droid. As the premier date approaches, we are all eager for more information about the upcoming program.

Cassian Andor

We were introduced to Cassian in Rogue One as a dedicated member of the Rebellion who was working steal the Death Star plans. While that quest didn’t end well for him, this prequel will allow us to learn more about how he became the rebel who would give everything to free the galaxy. The show will follow Cassian five years before Rogue One, as he is just joining the rebellion. The plaque on the SDCC display reveals that he will be on a mission to Aldhani, a planet that has not yet been seen in Star Wars.

Along with more information about Cassian’s whereabouts, one of his costumes was also on display. The earthy color palate of this outfit is similar to what he wore in Rogue One, yet the style differs with a much longer coat and the addition of a scarf. It will be interesting to see how this character’s clothing choices correspond to his lifestyle and the person he is becoming over the course of the series.

Mon Mothma

While Mon Mothma will later become the leader of the Rebellion, the plaque at SDCC indicates that Andor will instead look at her time as a senator on Coruscant, as she spreads the seeds of revolution. Through their parallel adventures, Mon Mothma will eventually cross paths with Cassian, leading to a partnership that would last through the time of the Rebellion.

One of Mon Mothma’s costumes was included in the Comic Con exibit. The gold dress and cape were styled in a way that was reminiscent of the other appearances of this character, particularly the roped cords on the front. It appears a little more fancy than fan’s may remember from other appearances, likely due to the more extravagant lifestyle of the senate.

B2EMO

Bee is newest edition to the many droids of Star Wars. The exhibit showcases a little red salvage droid that has seen better days. The scratches and chipped paint reflect the droid’s age, having served the Andor family for many years. Similar to fan favorites like R2D2 and BB8, B2EMO will have many tools and abilities that will assuredly help Cassian get out of some difficult situations.

The first two episodes of Andor will premier on Disney Plus on August 31st. You can check out the trailer here.
