Which actors returned in Star Wars: Summer Vacation?
The newest edition to the Lego Star Wars universe was released on August 5. Summer Vacation follows Finn and his sequel trilogy friends as they embark on one last vacation before they go their separate ways. Through their journey, they learn to value the time they have together. The fun story is made even better by the vocal performances that bring the characters to life. While many of the cast did not return for this animated feature, there were a few notable exceptions.
Anthony Daniels, famous for his role as C3P0, has once again returned to voice the beloved droid. Daniels has been playing Threepio since the character first made his mark in A New Hope. Since then, he has voiced the character in numerus live action and animated projects, including this new Lego Star Wars film.
Billy Dee Williams’s talent also shines as he reprised his role as Lando Calrissian. His character became a favorite when he began playing the role in The Empire Strikes Back. In his many reprisals of the character, he has continually satisfied his many fans. In Summer Vacation, he appears as a hologram of the character, providing narration that clarifies the themes of the movie. With his humor and signature charm, he is a great addition to the cast.
Kelly Marie Tran returned to play Rose Tico, a maintenance worker and resistance hero who was introduced in The Last Jedi. In addition to joining the cast of Summer Vacation, Tran has played the role of Rose in five other projects, including the Lego Star Wars Holiday Special. While fans have criticized the franchise for sidelining Rose in the final instalment of the sequel trilogy, her character has the chance to leave an impression in Summer Vacation, as Finn celebrates the impact she has made on his life.
Furthermore, Matt Lanter and James Arnold Taylor returned to their respective roles as Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Both actors voiced these roles in previous animated projects, such as The Clone Wars movie and show. In Summer Vacation, both characters appear as Force ghosts, giving advice to Finn as he struggles to enjoy his vacation.
Lego Star Wars: Summer Vacation is currently available on Disney Plus, where you can be sure to enjoy the vocal performances of the new and returning cast.
