Oscar Isaac is open to returning to Star Wars
By Matthew Roth
Oscar Isaac has seen success no matter what acting gig he takes on. From stepping into the world of Dune to sharing multiple personalities in Moon Knight there is no franchise too big for him. But, one role in particular that holds near and dear to our hearts is the role of Poe Dameron in the Star Wars sequel trilogy.
Since the last appearance, he has been silent on whether or not he would return to the franchise until recently. He recently sat down on the Jess Cagle Show for SiriusXM radio and said ” I have no real feeling one way or another. I’m open to any good story. Time is the one thing that becomes challenging.. as you get older and have kids and all that. Where do movies fit in?”
Isaac continued “If there was a great story and a great director and Kathy [Lucasfilm president] came to me and was like, I have this great idea, then I’m so open to it.” This comes a year after saying he wouldn’t likely return unless he needed “another house or something.” As of lately, the franchise has been focused on their Disney+ series releases with Kenobi and Andor as well as a slew of other plans on the horizon. No word has been said on whether we would be returning to the post-sequel trilogy era yet.
If they do decide to return they would not be short on stories to be told. The galaxy is large and we have fresh new faces that fastly became fan favorites in Rey, Finn, and Poe whose stories have only just begun to get started. However, for now, Isaac has been focused on more character-driven stories and there is no word on a Moon Knight second season so now could be the time to strike while the iron is hot.
