Months after The Book of Boba Fett ended, many Star Wars fans are still hopeful there’s more to the story. But viewers aren’t the only ones who would be excited to see the show’s main characters again.

Recently, Ming-Na Wen addressed the possibility of a second season of the show again, reaffirming her hopes for more though unable to confirm whether that might translate into future expansion of the Disney+ series.

“Second season of The Book of Boba Fett, I hope,” she said during a recent Fan Expo Boston appearance. “I never count my chickens before they hatch, because in this business, you just never know… But, knock on wood, they’ll be announcing that soon.”

The actor has spoken previously about her hopes for a Season 2 of The Book of Boba Fett, though nothing has truly been hinted at or confirmed. The show had a tightly-wrapped conclusion that left both Boba Fett and Fennec Shand wondering what was next. Perhaps Boba Fett’s story on the big screen has hit its end … but Fennec Shand’s is just beginning.

Ming-Na Wen is a Disney Legend — she first voiced Mulan, then went on to play a major character in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Joining the Star Wars universe was not only a logical next step for the actor, but a dream come true for her as well.

What better way to honor a legend like Wen than to give her — and her now iconic Star Wars character — a show all her own?

Maybe we’ll see Fennec Shand in live-action again — but not as Boba Fett’s counterpart. Instead, perhaps Wen’s enthusiasm for the role (and Star Wars as a whole) and fans’ love for her character will spark a series focused on what’s next for her after The Book of Boba Fett ends.

All episodes of The Book of Boba Fett are available to stream on Disney+ now.
