Rogue One fans absolutely partied the last few days and came out in droves to see the film they love so much.

To celebrate Andor coming to Disney+ on September 21, Disney re-released Rogue One: A Star Wars Story on IMAX over the weekend. The move paid off big for the company.

According to Collider, Rogue One raked in $1 million in ticket sales over the weekend bringing the film’s gross total on IMAX to $105 million. This pushed it to one of the top 10 highest-grossing films released in this format.

The movie pulled in $1 billion in its original theatrical run receiving positive reviews and was a critical success. Rogue One is the story of the crew that came together to steal the Death Star plans and their tragic fates.

Part of the re-release promotion was a 10-minute-long sneak preview of the upcoming Andor series. Star Wars News Net reported that part of the sneak peek was a new clip with Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) and Luthen Rael’s (Stellan Skarsgård) possible first meeting between the two characters. This clip was also released on YouTube as well.

The preview also provided some behind-the-scenes looks at the series as well as the most recent trailer. Some lucky fans were also able to snag an Andor poster from the event.

It’s great to see Rogue One’s continued success which bodes well for the Andor series. With Rogue One creator Tony Gilroy returning, it seems like Andor is in very good hands.

The first season of Andor is set five years prior to Rogue One following Cassian with the second season covering the next four years of his life. The show will lead up right into the events of Rogue One. The series stars Diego Luna, Genevieve O’Reilly, Adria Arjona, Stellan Skarsgård, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller, and Fiona Shaw.

The first three episodes of Star Wars: Andor will premiere on September 21 exclusively on Disney+.
