Disney+ Day, happening on September 8 this year, is bound to come along with important Star Wars TV announcements. Here’s what we’re hoping for most.
The Bad Batch season two update
Season 1 of The Bad Batch was very popular amongst Star Wars fans and left us all wanting more. We finally got an official trailer for season two back in May at Star Wars Celebration and the series was slated to release this fall.
The trailer for season two had the internet buzzing. We got a small glimpse at the return of Commander Cody and even a brief appearance from Gungi. Omega seems to have grown since we last saw her and will likely play a prominent role in season two.
There has been conflicting information over the past few weeks regarding when season two of The Bad Batch will release, so any update on Disney+ day would be awesome.
Tales of the Jedi trailer
Since being announced at Star Wars Celebration 2022, Tales of the Jedi has become one of the most anticipated upcoming Star Wars projects. With that being said, the only official thing we have seen so far from the series is the logo. Everything else that has been released on the internet was leaked from Star Wars Celebration.
The animated series takes place during the prequel era and will be telling stories about some of the most popular prequel era characters. Ahsoka Tano, Qui-Gon Jinn, Count Dooku, and more. We’ve seen leaked photos of a very young Ahsoka, a young Jedi Count Dooku, and Qui-Gon Jinn as Dooku’s padawan. It all looks very intriguing.
An official trailer dropping on Disney+ day would make perfect sense. Even dropping some new images or new looks at the characters featured in the series would be a smart marketing decision. It hasn’t been officially announced yet when the series will release, so I assume we’ll be getting a release date with hopefully a trailer or even some new images.
The Mandalorian Season 3 update/trailer
I truly didn’t think they could top how special season one of The Mandalorian was, but they did exactly that with season two. So, I can only imagine how crazy season three is going to be. Season two ended with Grogu going off to begin training as a Jedi with Luke Skywalker which left Din Djarin without what was his “purpose” for quite some time.
Now without Grogu by his side, Djarin has his sights set on finding any remaining mandalorian and rebuilding Mandalore. On top of wanting to rebuild mandalore, Djarin is now the rightful owner/wielder of the darksaber. We know this is going to be an issue with Bo Katan and the two of them will likely end up battling for control of the saber and or mandalore as a whole.
We have no official release date for season three and only have the logo so far. I would imagine Disney and Star Wars will be using Disney+ day as the perfect opportunity to begin getting everyone amped up for season three. Hopefully we get to see an official look at the leaked trailer from Star Wars Celebration or even a whole new trailer!
Ahsoka trailer
A live action Ahsoka series is something fans have waited years for and we’re finally getting it in 2023. From what we know so far, the plot of the Ahsoka series will be very similar to what season five of Star Wars Rebels would have looked like.
This series has so much potential to be something very special. The plot is likely going to be centered around Ahsoka searching for both Ezra Bridger and Grand Admiral Thrawn. We have waited four years to find out where these two are after the series finale of Rebels, so seeing this story be continued is so exciting.
We know that there was a trailer shown to the crowd at the panel for Ahsoka at Star Wars Celebration, but there has been no official trailer or images dropped for the Ahsoka series yet. We’re all hoping to see a special exclusive look or even a new official trailer drop on Disney+ day, but obviously nothing is concrete official for what they will or will not show.
Regardless of what is or isn’t shown on Disney+ day we have so much to look forward to as Star Wars fans. There is so much awesome stuff set to come out over the next few months/years and I look forward to talking about all of it!
