Ahsoka lead Rosario Dawson has provided an update on the filming of the Star Wars spin-off.

The show started production on May 9, 2022, as confirmed by Disney+ by tweeting a set picture of a crew chair with ‘Ahsoka’ written on it.

In an exclusive interview with ScreenRant while promoting Kevin Smith’s movie Clerks III, Dawson revealed that shooting for Ahsoka is still going on and there are two more months of filming left. Dawson also expressed excitement about getting to learn martial arts for the role.

"“Yes, we’re still filming it right now. We just have a couple months left. It’s going great. It’s really amazing learning martial arts in my 40s. [Laughs] It’s super amazing, and I don’t use that word very lightly. My grandmother used to say, ‘Amazing is two blue horses,’ if you ever said something was amazing. Because it’d be like, ‘No, amazing is two blue horses. That pizza slice probably isn’t amazing.’”"

After becoming a fan-favorite character in animated form on Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Ahsoka Tano was brought to life by Rosario Dawson in season 2 of The Mandalorian. She reprised the role in The Book of Boba Fett, sharing screen with Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin aka Mando.

It has been revealed that the storyline of Ahsoka will be set around the same time period as The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, placing it right after the events of Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.

It is not confirmed yet whether Ahsoka Tano will return for a second season or more live-action appearances in other Disney+ shows of Star Wars. However, Rosario Dawson is prepared to play the role as long as possible, per Vanity Fair.

"“As long as they want me, and as long as it’s possible, I’m in it,” Dawson said about her stay in the Star Wars universe."

Ahsoka will reportedly feature characters from Star Wars: Rebels animated series, such as Sabine Wren and Hera Syndulla. The show is also going to bring back Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker, though his scenes will likely be in flashback or as a Force Ghost owing to Darth Vader’s demise in Episode VI.
