Before Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Cassian Andor was fighting a much different kind of war. His involvement with the Rebel Alliance will be further explored in Andor, the latest live-action Star Wars series coming to Disney+.
With the show premiering in just under a week, Star Wars fans want to know what they’re in for — specifically, how many episodes of Andor they can expect on Disney+. Thankfully, D23 revealed the official episode count not just for the first season, but for the entire show.
Andor will run for 24 episodes in total split between seasons.
- Season 1 – 12 episodes
- Season 2 – 12 episodes
The show is only expected to last two seasons, spanning over the five total years leading up to the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. However, it will be split evenly into two 12-episode installments on Disney+.
So far, we know the series will divide its time between characters such as Cassian Andor and Mon Mothma. It will explore the time leading up to the events of the original trilogy and will show how the rising rebellion against the Empire operates from the inside.
Surprises likely await audiences in the months ahead — but the number of episodes isn’t one of them.
The show kicks off September 21 with the first several episodes all dropping at once, and the first season is expected to run through November 2022. It’s unclear when the second and final season of the series will premiere, but it’s best to sit back and enjoy the show’s first season as it’s releasing and savoring what’s happening now before looking ahead to what’s next.
Star Wars: Andor will premiere its first three episodes September 21 exclusively on Disney+.
