WARNING: The following contains SPOILERS for Andor Season 1, Episode 1.

Cassian Andor enters a late-night club. But he’s not there to have a good time.

He’s searching for someone. His sister.

After he’s informed the person he’s looking for is long gone, he disappears back into the night — only to be pursued by the men eyeing him dangerously while inside. Panicking, he shoves one of the men a little too hard. The remaining officer, for Cassian’s own protection, also must go.

Before Cassian arrived, those men were alive. He’s not going to get out of this one easily.

Back on Ferrix, B2EMO isn’t happy with Cassian about disappearing. He asks the droid not to tell anyone where he was or where he’s going, and B2 is even more distraught about having to lie. It takes a lot of energy for a droid to lie, it turns out. Cassian tells him to go home and charge.

Meanwhile, Deputy Inspector Karn’s boss wants him to wrap up and forget about the two unexplained deaths. The man’s not having it — justice, and all that. He puts out an alert that a Kenari man is wanted for questioning.

Cassian consults friend and ex-lover Bix, asking her to tell her secret buyer that he has something extremely valuable to sell. He needs the cash to get off Ferrix, because people might come looking for him, and that’s suddenly the absolute last thing he wants.

Flashback: Kenari. A young Cassian and his community of fellow younglings witness a Republic ship crashing in the distance. In order to investigate, he has to leave his younger sister behind.

Bix sends a transmission to her anonymous buyer, sealing Cassian’s fate — and possibly her own — forever.

New episodes of Andor drop Wednesdays exclusively on Disney+.
