WARNING: The following contains SPOILERS for Andor Season 1, Episode 4.

On the Luthen’s ship, he and Cassian discuss living in the shadows of the Empire as Cassian tends to his wounded arm. Cassian believes there’s no point in fighting the regime head-on. Luthen isn’t convinced spending every day hiding and running from the inevitable is worth it.

He tells Cassian that he’ll pay him to join a group of rebel fighters on an important, dangerous mission — more credits than Cassian could have ever hoped for. He begrudgingly agrees.

The job? A heist. Stealing a large sum of money from the Empire to fund the rebellion against it. No big deal, right?

We at last return to Coruscant, specifically to the headquarters of the Imperial Security Bureau (ISB). The ISB are the ones making sure citizens are abiding by all the rules, aka doing whatever it takes to maintain Imperial control over everyone.

This is where we meet Supervisor Dedra Meer, who’s very interested in the failure of corporate security on Ferrix. This might be a hint that a rebel uprising is forming, she says. But her boss, Major Partagaz, doesn’t seem to agree. He seems to think she’s violating the perceived parameters of her scope of practice, so to speak. Oh yeah. She’s definitely going to step on his head before the series ends, possibly literally? This is the Empire, after all.

The time has arrived, folks — Mon Mothma has entered the building. Luthen, taking on the persona of an antique collector with plenty of merchandise to sell to Coruscant’s richest, is here t “help” her choose a suitable gift for her husband (who is, unfortunately, not part of any cover story. We’ll get to him in a minute).

In a back room, the two quietly discuss the state of the rebellion and how the Empire has a hunch about what Mon is up to. She’s too influential in the senate, however — they can’t do much to stop her. Still, she has to be careful with sending money here and there without a good reason.

She looks so GOOD.

We follow Mon to her apartment, and this is where we have the ultimate displeasure of meeting Perrin Fertha. He’s invited some Imperial friends over for dinner later, both of whom Mon hates, but her husband doesn’t seem to care. Why would he? He only seems to care that she’s brought him a gift. This woman desperately needs a spa day.

Before meeting Mon, Luthen dropped Cassian off on a remote planet, introducing him to Vel Sartha, leader of the rebel group he’ll be joining. She hates him. Doesn’t trust him. Doesn’t seem to care if he dies. But Luthen seems convinced he’s an asset.

The team informs Cassian of the plan — to break into an Imperial vault to steal the payroll while a meteor shower of sorts provides them cover — and he’s given everything he needs to memorize by morning. They don’t have much time, and they only have one shot.

Everything’s going to be FINE.
