It has been four years since Star Wars Rebels ended and left us on a huge cliffhanger. Four years later, we all are still waiting to find out where Ezra Bridger and Grand Admiral Thrawn are. The upcoming Ahsoka series might just be where we finally get our answers from. Here’s why:

In Season 2 of The Mandalorian, Ahsoka Tano made her live-action debut. Fans had been waiting 10+ years to finally see Tano in live-action form. She was arguably the most popular character to come out of the Clone Wars series so seeing her in live-action was a very big deal for Star Wars fans.

In the episode that Tano appeared in during Season 2 of The Mandalorian she faced off against a new unknown character named The Magistrate. Tano defeated the Magistrate in combat and had one question to ask her. “Where is your master? Where is Grand Admiral Thrawn?”

This had fans BUZZING. It was the first mention of Grand Admiral Thrawn in live action which was a huge deal. Thrawn was a character that was primarily featured in Star Wars books but also appeared in Star Wars Rebels where he was the main antagonist.

The final episode of Star Wars Rebels showed both Ezra Bridger and Thrawn going in hyperspace into the unknown. Following this, the last shot of the series finale showed both Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren looking at a portrait of the ghost crew. After that. the assumption is that both Tano and Wren began their journey of finding Ezra and Thrawn.

It has been confirmed that Sabine Wren will be appearing in the upcoming Ahsoka series, and we also recently had an official confirmation of the actor who will be playing Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi). The confirmation of both Wren and Bridger appearing in the Ahsoka series is pretty telling for what the storyline of the series will possibly look like.

We already know that we will be seeing the live action debuts of both Sabine Wren and Ezra Bridger, is there anyone else from the ghost crew we could see in the Ahsoka series? Hera Syndulla and Chopper both are going to potentially be prominent characters in the series. There is hope for the possibility of an appearance from Zeb and maybe a flashback scene with Kanan Jarrus, but both ideas are just hypotheticals at this point in time.

The Ahsoka series is basically going to be the season five of Star Wars Rebels that we never got. Ahsoka and Sabine Wren are going to be on the hunt for both Ezra and Thrawn which will for sure take them all over the galaxy. There are endless possibilities for special appearances, cameos, and surprises that could take place in this series. We’re all patiently waiting until 2023 to see what goes down!
