Andor episode 5: ‘The Axe Forgets’ ending explained
Warning! Spoilers ahead for the fifth episode of Season 1 of Andor, “The Axe Forgets.”
The latest live-action Star Wars series Andor has arrived on Disney+. The fifth episode, “The Axe Forgets” saw Andor’s new crew prepare their mission to steal from the Empire as overall tensions increased.
Things are ramping up on Andor, so let’s dive into the episode.
A Leader in the Making
This week’s episode saw Andor working with Vel’s (Faye Marsay) crew of Rebels as they prepared for their heist. While Skeen (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) grew more suspicious, Andor quietly showed his skill and burgeoning leadership ability.
Everything came to a head as the group left camp and Skeen found Luthen’s Kyber crystal on Andor, who finally admitted part of the truth–that he was there for money. Andor further utilized the moment to galvanize the crew and remind them their fear was normal and not to let it go to waste.
Throughout the episode, Andor proved his smarts and value in the mission, identifying weaknesses in the plan and taking over as needed. It’s clear Andor has found his calling, whether he realizes it yet.
A Brewing War
The final moments of the episode brought us back to Luthen’s (Stellan Skarsgard) antiquities shop where he appeared to be listening in on the Kyber he gave Andor–to no avail.
While his assistant Kleya (Elizabeth Dulau) tried to talk him down off the ledge, Luthen hinted that he wasn’t as careful as he should have been, especially when it came to Andor. It seems that one way or another, everything will come to a head in next week’s episode.
Andor is available to stream on Disney Plus.
