Especially in the past few years, the rate of newly released Star Wars books hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down. By the end of 2022, we’ll have gotten a new Star Wars novel 10 out of 12 months of the year — everything from new High Republic titles to Adam Christopher’s intense Shadow of the Sith.

If you ever wondered whether or not these books would slow their release pace anytime soon — fear not. The books are coming, and there isn’t a single one you aren’t going to want to pre-order immediately.

This morning the Lucasfilm Publishing panel at New York Comic-Con 2022 revealed a handful of new Star Wars titles coming in 2023 — including one from a repeat Star Wars author.

Here’s a quick rundown of what’s to come — not including the titles already revealed elsewhere this weekend.

New Star Wars books coming in 2023 — here’s what we know

  • Inquisitor: Rise of the Red Blade by Delilah S. Dawson (July 19, 2023)
  • The High Republic: The Lightsaber Collection (Spring 2024)

Also announced: Star Wars: Revelations, an upcoming Marvel comic series by Marc Guggenhelm, due to release February 2023.

This wasn’t the only Star Wars book-related news to come out of NYCC this year. Earlier this weekend, The High Republic panel held at the convention revealed new cover art and fresh details about what’s coming next in the best-selling book series set a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.

Long story short: There are a lot of Star Wars books coming our way in the next year and beyond. To make sure you stay caught up with the books and comics as they’re released, follow our monthly roundups and weekly comics release updates and reviews.
