Even though the first season of Andor is nearly halfway over, it truly feels as though it’s still just beginning.

While Mon Mothma struggles to balance her double life as a public Imperial senator and secret Rebel Alliance leader, Cassian navigates the growing complexities of agreeing to embark on a dangerous mission on behalf of a cause he does not believe in.

Tensions continue to rise as it becomes painfully clear that few members of Vel’s crew trust the newcomer to carry out his responsibilities. “Clem” is capable and skilled, and seems to know a thing or two about sneaking around the Empire’s many shadows. But refusing to offer up information about why he suddenly appeared on the mission — and the fact that he’s walking around with a kyber crystal around his neck — isn’t winning him over with most of the team.

Now that some barriers have been broken down between team members, the potentially deadly mission is now less than a day away. Who will survive the ordeal (other than Cassian)? What will its consequences be? What’s next for Cassian after the mission either succeeds or fails?

There are still years left between now and when we meet Cassian later on in Rogue One. What we don’t know much about — though we’ll soon learn more — is how he spends those years.
