Warning! Spoilers ahead for the sixth episode of Season 1 of Andor, “The Eye.”

The latest live-action Star Wars series Andor has arrived on Disney+. The sixth episode, “The Eye” saw Andor work with the ragtag crew of Rebels to break into an Imperial compound.

With half of Andor’s first season officially over, let’s dive into the latest high-wire episode, “The Eye.”

A Pivotal Choice

The bulk of this week’s episode chronicled the tense heist as Andor and his crew broke into the Imperial base in Aldhani. Though Andor joined the mission last and arguably had the least skin in the game, he took charge at several moments, including making the decision to fly Nemik (Alex Lawther) to the doctor.

While Vel (Faye Marsay) sat with Nemik in surgery, Andor and Skeen (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) waited outside, and Skeen seized his moment to propose what he wanted to Andor all along–the two of them splitting the money fifty-fifty and leaving the Rebels in the Dust.

The Andor we met in the pilot episode was a desperate young man with few allegiances or ties who cared little about the Rebel cause. It seems that Andor would have had no reason to say no to Skeen, especially after finding himself on the run from the Pre-Mor.

Yet it’s clear Andor is already on his way to becoming a changed man when he kills Skeen, not to protect himself, but to protect the Rebels and their work.

Though he’s not fully on board with joining the Rebels–he takes his original share and leaves right after–Vel gifts him Nemik’s manifesto, a clear sign that he’s on the path to becoming more politicized and awakened to what it means to truly fight the Empire.

A Moment of Relief

The final moments of the episode see Luthen (Stellan Skarsgard) in his antiquities shop again when someone asks about goods from Aldhani, reporting there was a raid there the previous night.

Luthen excuses himself to celebrate in quiet, the first brief moment of hope we’ve seen in the series thus far. With Luthen securing the funds he needs for the fight, this victory is only the beginning for the Rebellion.

Andor is available to stream on Disney Plus.
