Every now and then, those working behind the camera on Star Wars projects get to give the camera — or the microphone — a try.

In the lead-up to Tales of the Jedi, Bryce Dallas Howard announced she would voice a character in the series.

Has Bryce Dallas Howard been in Star Wars before?

While the actor hasn’t previously appeared on-screen in a credited Star Wars role, Bryce Dallas Howard has directed several episodes of Star Wars TV, likely with more to come.

She directed two episodes of The Mandalorian — Season 1’s “Sanctuary” and Season 2’s “The Heiress.”

She also directed Chapter 5 of The Book of Boba Fett, “The Return of the Mandalorian” in which — you guessed it — The Mandalorian returned to the small screen once again.

She has, however, voiced characters in other franchises before, and has had a successful acting career to date. Star Wars fans have loved her work in Star Wars so much that they’ve been begging for her to direct her own Star Wars film trilogy. Perhaps voicing Yaddle is the next step on her journey to such an honor.

Who does Bryce Dallas Howard play in Star Wars?

She voices the Jedi Master Yaddle in Tales of the Jedi, an animated series of shorts released on Disney+ in the fall of 2022.

Tales of the Jedi splits its stories between the characters of Ahsoka Tano and Count Dooku, both former Jedi who embark on vastly different paths after they willingly leave the Jedi Order. While Ahsoka goes on to lead a long life dedicated to making the galaxy a better place, Dooku becomes a Sith Lord and meets his unfortunate end when his master betrays him.

Tales of the Jedi premieres October 26 exclusively on Disney+.
