Tales of the Jedi will bring back several familiar faces to a galaxy far, far away along with some familiar actors as well. This anthology series is focused on two Jedi: Ahsoka Tano and Count Dooku. Along with Dooku will be his padawan, Qui-Gon Jinn. Liam Neeson will be reprising his role as Qui-Gon. But he’s not the only person voicing the character.

As reported by ScreenRant, young Qui-Gon will have a different voice actor. And in a pleasant surprise, it’s none other than Liam Neeson’s son, Micheál Richardson.

I love this choice to have his son voice the same character. Micheál is familiar with his father’s work, and the duo even acted together in the movie Made in Italy. Star Wars has been a part of their family as Liam shared a story on The Graham Norton Show about the first time that Micheál met R2-D2.

Micheál Richardson’s other works include Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, On Our Way, and the television series, Big Dogs. He also starred with another Star Wars actor, Natalie Portman, in the film, Vox Lux.

Tales of the Jedi is the second Star Wars anthology series with the first being Star Wars: Visions. I hope it’s successful because I would absolutely love a season two. Giving us stories from other shows like Star Wars Rebels would be great. I would love a short about Kanan in hiding post-Order 66. I would watch an entire series about the Jedi of the High Republic era. There are so many characters in that time period that it could easily fill several anthology series. Honestly, I just need more Loden Greatstorm content in my life.

This is an exciting format to have more time with characters we loved. It makes sense the first outing is Clone Wars as Tales of the Jedi is helmed by Dave Filoni. He’s getting to play in the new technology created for The Bad Batch, so I’m not surprised we’re revisiting this era again. If there is a season two, I hope we expand to see other Jedi in different eras.

Tales of the Jedi airs exclusively on Disney+ on October 26, 2022.
