Ashley Eckstein has been the embodiment of Ahsoka Tano since the character’s debut back in 2008. The actress has been successful in becoming Ahsoka in many ways, from the voice acting itself, to her commitment to comic-cons, and even the founding of her Ahsoka-inspired fashion brand Her Universe. Ashley has been Ahsoka in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars: Rebels, Tales of the Jedi, and even Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. So when Rosario Dawson was cast to play Ahsoka in the upcoming Ahsoka series, some fans were a bit suspicious. Even with Rosario’s appearance’s in The Mandalorian season 2 and The Book of Boba Fett we had yet to see Ashley and Rosario meet, but the moment finally came on the set of the upcoming Ahsoka series.
What was Ashley Eckstein’s response to Rosario Dawson?
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ashley Eckstein said that she’d “been waiting to meet her for three years, and I was so excited” shortly before her visit to the set. This was Ashley’s first visit to the set and some of the more conspiratory fans have been suspecting a cameo for the voice actress in the upcoming series. So far however it seems like that is not the case as Ashley confirmed. She did clarify that “I talk about throwing your dreams out into the universe, so it would be a dream come true if I got to do a cameo because my background is in live action.”
In terms of her reaction to Rosario Dawson, it was the usual upbeat response. Ashely said “that she was just lovely. We just really hit it off, which I knew we would.” So the more skeptical of fans can breathe a sigh of relief and release the Rosario Dawson is continuing her excellence in acting as we have seen in her previous appearances and in shows such as Daredevil.
Can we expect to see more of Ashley Eckstein as Ahsoka in the Future?
With Tales of the Jedi releasing recently we have had more than a few questions answered about the past. This series has so far had an excellent reception from fans and critics alike, but the series was quite short with only six episodes that averaged under 20 minutes apiece. When Ashley was asked about the possibility of more tales in the future she responded
"There’s so many moments that we didn’t get to see and so many questions we have and I think this is a great way to explore those questions and answer those questions. So, we’re starting with six, but man, it would be a dream if we got to make more."
It is good to know that the actress also supports more of these tales, and it seems that the fanbase is still extremely receptive to more appearances by Ashley in the future. While we know that she won’t get that cameo in the first season of Ahsoka, who is to say that she won’t make an appearance in season 2?
