The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special may be a Marvel Cinematic Universe property, but it didn’t take science fiction fans long to find a possible connection back to the Star Wars movies.

Immediately after the special aired on Disney+ last week, Star Wars fans pointed out that one particular cameo appeared to feature none other than OG Star Wars actor Mark Hamill.

The character is very briefly seen drinking by himself. It’s definitely a “blink and you’ll miss it” moment, which is why many fans were amazed the special would try to insert an iconic actor from another mega-franchise thinking no one would notice.

Once the Hamill rumors started circulating, the actor’s son Nathan tried to reassure his Twitter followers that the guy on screen definitely wasn’t his dad, writing: “That’s not @MarkHamill.”

But that confirmation died out as soon as Hamill quote-tweeted the original post with nothing other than a cryptic “It’s not?”

Mark? Mark, come on.

So … was that Luke Skywalker in the Guardians special, or is the man behind the lightsaber just trolling us? The answer could be both. But we may never know for sure.

Even though Star Wars TV is on a short break after last week’s stunning Andor season finale, there’s plenty to keep fans occupied until the return of The Bad Batch this January. Most of the Star Wars shows, shorts, movies, and featurettes viewers love are available on Disney+ — including the behind-the-scenes documentaries for The Book of Boba FettObi-Wan Kenobi, and more.

Even if Mark Hamill didn’t just cross franchises for a quick space cameo, at least you know you can find him plenty of places in a galaxy far, far away.
