Dafne Keen can’t say much about The Acolyte right now. But the forthcoming Star Wars actor does promise it’s going to be a story fans haven’t seen on-screen before.

Speaking with TechRadar, Keen — who was recently officially announced as part of the project’s cast — teased that a long-standing question among fans will finally be answered in canon.

“It’s kind of an explanation of how the Sith infiltrated the Jedi. It’s a Sith-led story, which has never been done before,” the actor said.
Minimal plot details have previously managed to reveal that the show, created by Russian Doll‘s Leslye Headland, would focus on a mysterious time in the galaxy: The time between The High Republic and the events of The Phantom Menace.

Some fans theorized this time period could bring Darth Plagueis to the small screen for the first time, though we’ll have to wait for the show to premiere to see if this is even feasible.

Basically, we don’t know much about the show officially. But it seems like the long-standing question of how the Sith managed to destroy the Jedi so stealthily will finally be addressed in a live-action series.

Which characters will be involved in this plot have yet to be revealed. But the closer we get to the show’s to-be-announced premiere date, the more we will learn.

Keen had nothing but good things to say about the experience so far. “It’s been really fun to film – the cast is amazing, and the director and crew are just lovely. The whole experience is wonderful, and I’m already excited for people to see it.”

Star Wars: The Acolyte is currently in production, with more details on plot and release date to come in the months ahead.
