The latest Star Wars FAN film releases a gorgeous Lucasfilm-quality opening scene
Meet Howie Day. He is a long-time Star Wars fan who has now created his own fan film. The opening scene is really what’s truly getting people talking. It comes to us in beautiful 4K and truly looks like it could’ve come straight from one of the already-made franchise films.
On social media, Howie Day has released only the opening scene to his fan film and the internet is going nuts over it; yes, it’s already gone viral.
Howie Day’s Star Wars fan film’s opening scene is absolutely GORGEOUS! Make sure to check it out down below from his Twitter directly!
Apparently, he initially posted this video back in July of this year (2022), but up until that point he had still been working on it for ages already. He stated that he might pick it up again and in all honesty, we’re super glad that he did!
According to a report by CBR, here are a few tidbits into what the initial opening scene is all about:
"“The video…follows a pair of Imperial shuttles deployed from a fleet of destroyers to search for the Rebellion.”"
On Twitter, for those people who are really into what he uses and does to make these trailers and opening fan film scenes, he explains all of that. Here’s what that same CBR report had to say all about it as well/in addition to all of the previously mentioned material:
"“…the sequence was created in the 3D graphics software 3ds Max at 4K bitrate, and then rendered using the VRay Optix GPU renderer…”"
Day has also posted some BTS (behind the scenes) videos of how all of the graphics looked before he officially cleaned them all up – which was actually super cool to see such an evolution of his work.
All we truly do know is that Howie Day is not only a doting fan but a super talented filmmaker!
That’s a wrap on Howie Day’s Star Wars fan film that is already sweeping the internet by storm!
Congrats to Mr. Day! A project a long time in the works is definitely something to be proud of and worth bragging about for dang sure!
