The whole entire Star Wars franchise as a whole is certainly nothing short of intense, immaculate, engaging, and even sometimes emotional and ‘mushy’. Certain scenes from any work of Star Wars can make you feel certain emotions, remind you of times within your own life, and even make you so angry at a particular character that you start to hate them, the actor that plays them, and all else in between.

Whatever the case may be, we’re going to take a look at the top 7 (if we can somehow manage to only pick 7) scenes from Star Wars films (and one Disney+ show) that have ever been filmed.

Let’s take a look at the top scenes from Star Wars!! Which are your own personal favorites as well?!

In no particular order, here are the Top 7 scenes from Star Wars to ever be filmed and why!

1. Obi-Wan & Darth Vader’s Battle

Where Is This From?: Obi-Wan Kenobib (from Disney+)

I know this one isn’t from a Star Wars film, but it was such an iconic and breathtaking scene that I just couldn’t pass up talking about it. In the Disney+ hit, Obi-Wan Kenobi‘s third episode, there is this edge-of-your seat lightsaber battle between Obi-Wan himself and Darth Vader. This is their first rematch since the totally epic Battle on Mustafar back in Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, so of course their second time around was totally epic as well, landing them a spot on this list.

2. Rey Accepting Her Destiny with the Force

Where Is This From?: Episode VII: The Force Awakens

When I tell you this was such an epic scene, I mean it. Imagine Kylo Ren reaching for his grandfather’s blue lightsaber, only to have it fly past him and land in the hands of Rey. Well, that’s exactly what happened during Episode VII: The Force Awakens, and after this happens, Rey then tells Kylo to “come and take it”. After telling many people in Maz’s castle that she just wanted to go home, she finally embraced her power and responsibilities that come with being a Jedi.

3. The Super Intense Battle on Mustafar

Where Is This From?: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

Back to The Battle on Mustafar again…this comes from my all-time favorite Star Wars film ever, Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. When we get to this point in the film, we’ve already figured out that Anakin Skywalker will now be called Darth Vader. He is betraying and battling his master, Obi-Wan Kenobi in an intense and fiery battle that leads to him losing his limbs and needing that famous ‘breathing suit’. If you’re not impressed by this battle, then I don’t know what to say.

4. The Death of Darth Vader

Where Is This From?: Episode VI: Return of the Jedi

Originally, Episode VI: Return of the Jedi was meant to be the final Star Wars movie, and boy did we ‘end’ on a bang (or would’ve ended on a bang). The death of Darth Vader is something that, I’m sure, not many people say coming, at least not in the way that it did. Vader stuck his neck out for his son, Luke Skywalker. The helmet came off, therefore limiting his breathing time left on their planet. In this epic and emotional scene we see ‘Anakin’s’ face one last time, and then we bawl.

5. Luke Skywalker & Master Yoda on Dagobah

Where Is This From?: Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back

This particular scene lasts a while in the movie. Here, Master Yoda is attempting to teach Luke Skywalker the ways of The Force. He is a great teacher and master who was been teaching people and living for over 900 years. Well, all good things must come to an end, right? Unfortunately for this movie, that also includes Yoda’s life. When he said “Rest, I Must” and then fades away, it was lights out for me and I cried, as I’m sure many true fans did. What a masterpiece of a character.

6. The Jedi Steps

Where Is This From?: Episode VII: The Force Awakens

The famous Jedi Steps is probably one of the best conclusions of a Star Wars movie in franchise history. It all stems from Rey, Chewbacca, and R2-D2 ending up on a planet called Ach-To in an attempt to find Master Luke Skywalker. John Williams’ famous Jedi Steps song begins and Rey walks up some steps to find Skywalker. The scene ends with her seeing a hooded figure at the top of the hill. Rey hands him his lightsaber, to which he throws it behind him…end of scene.

7. Han Solo Confronting Kylo Ren

Where Is This From?: Episode VII: The Force Awakens

In case you were unaware of this fact like me, Harrison Ford had actually been pushing for his character, Han Solo to die since the film Return of the Jedi and only agreed to come onto this film is his character finally met his anticipated fate. He got his wish. This was quite possibly one of the most emotional scenes ever. He reunited with Leia and she begs him to return their son (Ren) home. Ben (Kylo Ren) does what we never saw coming, after seeming to get through to his son, Han Solo gets stabbed in the heart. So emotional, so raw, never saw it coming.

BONUS SCENE: Duel of the Fates (coming from Episode I: The Phantom Menace)

Okay, so I told you that there would be seven scenes that we talked about; however, I couldn’t have a list of the best Star Wars scenes ever and not include this one. While most people absolutely hated Episode I, there was still something good to come out of it. It was this scene where Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn fight Darth Maul, who we just met for the first time. Here, Maul is ready for battle with his double-ended red lightsaber. There are so many different emotions that you will feel during this particular scene and I promise you will be on the edge of your seat for the whole entire time.

light. Hot. Revenge of the Sith: Would Yoda have won if HE had fought Anakin instead?!

That’s a wrap on the Top 7 (and and 8th bonus) Scenes from Star Wars cinema’s history!
