If you’re like the rest of us you sat through one half of the Dallas Cowboys and Tampa Bay Buccaneers Wild Card game last night if only to get a peek at our beloved Grogu. A new trailer for season 3 of The Mandalorian was released at halftime last night and it has fans buzzing.
Yes, it appears there’s a lot of beloved characters returning and even cities such as Coruscant. However, they didn’t solely drop the trailer and run as we were treated to the list of directors for the upcoming season. Returning once again to direct will be Bryce Dallas Howard, Carl Weathers, and Rick Famuyia. They aren’t the only directors behind the camera as there are a few fresh faces making their debut in the universe.
Lee Isaac Chung, director of the film Minari will be stepping behind the camera for an episode. Chung burst onto the scene with his debut in 2007 at the Cannes Film Festival . Rachel Morrison will also be joining the crew. Morrison was the first ever woman nominated for Best Cinematography for her film Mudbound. (2017) Rachel has also worked with director Ryan Coogler on the set of Black Panther in 2018. Lastly, we see Peter Ramsey entering the Star Wars universe to direct in this upcoming season. Ramsey became the first African-American filmmaker to win the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature with Into-The Spiderverse.
The list of directors is sure to enhance our excitement for the upcoming season as season 2 ended December 18th, 2020. The character made an appearance in The Book of Boba Fett where we were treated to what he has been up too along with another surprise or two. Season 3’s trailer took us to places such as Mandalore and is shaping up to be an intense and action packed season.
The Mandalorian season 3 premiers March 1st on Disney+.
