Star Wars fans all know Daisy Ridley as Rey, the orphan turned Jedi, who aids in the destruction of the First Order and hopefully, for the final time, Emperor Palpatine. But Ridley is more than a strong warrior wielding a lightsaber.
Since her last appearance as Rey in Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker, she has done several voiceover work for video games like The Dawn of Art and Twelve Minutes. She has several projects coming up, with the most recent being her role in the film Sometimes I Think About Dying.
In a recent Rolling Stone interview, she spoke about her new film role as well as looked back as her previous role as Rey. Ironically, she finds she can understand her character, Fran, “Work meetings are fine. If there’s a purpose, I’m fine. But otherwise, I’ve always found social interactions difficult.”
Social interactions were difficult for the actress, especially in the aftermath of the pandemic stating, “People are constantly questioning where they fit into the landscape of the world, and if they’re doing enough to be a part of things and connect.”
What was Daisy Ridley’s experience with Star Wars?
As for her experience with Star Wars, “I know they bring up a lot for other people, but for me it was joy. Not always — it was difficult — but overall, I loved my experience. I worked with amazing directors and actors that I respect, so it was an amazing beginning of a career.”
While there hasn’t been any news regarding the future of Star Wars, outside of the Disney Plus television series’, we are thrilled to see Ridley continue onto newer things and broaden her range as an actress.
