WARNING: The following contains SPOILERS for The Bad Batch Season 2, Episode 1: “Spoils of War.”
Some time has passed since Season 1 of The Bad Batch ended. Clone Force 99 is on another mission, with Omega trying to balance real-time military tactics while also doing homework (thanks, Tech).
Once the group returns to Ord Mantel, Cid gives them a new mission: Steal as much from Count Dooku’s empty palace on his homeworld before the Empire gets its greedy, evil hands on all of it.
The group heads off to Serrano, where the Empire has already gathered the contents of Dooku’s war chest into shipping vessels. While Hunter creates a diversion, the rest of the group stealthily boards one of the vessels in hopes of gathering the most valuable items they can find.
But Hunter’s diversion causes the imperial officers to panic, and the garrison starts its takeoff — with Tech, Omega, and Echo still inside.
Wrecker and Hunter meet up in the forest, but with the others still trapped on the ship that’s about to take off, there seems to be no hope of regrouping yet.
Thankfully, Omega’s homework is about to pay off! She realizes they can use one of the shipping crates to eject themselves from the ship. Ideally, they should be able to use it like an escape pod … except there’s no guarantee the “landing” will go well.
But they’ve been discovered, and they’ve run out of options. It’s eject or be captured. And getting captured would be very bad for all involved. So off they go. They’re away from the ship, but they now have another problem.
They’re going to crash, and the Empire is going to let that stop the pursuit …
