Next month, The Mandalorian and The Last of Us star Pedro Pascal will try something he’s never tried before: hosting Saturday Night Live!

So far, 2023 is shaping up to be the Year of Pascal. He stars as Joel in The Last of Us, which debuted in January with a hugely successful premiere on HBO. This year also marks the first time the actor will return in The Mandalorian since December 2020. (He did appear in several episodes of The Book of Boba Fett, but not as a lead.)

While Season 2 of The Bad Batch is going strong, many Star Wars fans are already on the edges of their seats waiting for March to arrive so they can see Mando (yes, and Grogu too) again. It will have been over a year since viewers have seen the two together, and this season has set itself up to be the most thrilling the series has produced yet.

While Pascal is by no means the first Star Wars actor to ever host the live comedy show — Adam Driver, Carrie Fisher, and many other Star Wars veterans have come before him — the actor is possibly more popular now than he’s ever been. His hosting debut will bring in massive viewership. Thankfully, he has more than enough talent to nail every minute of his performance.

Pascal will host SNL with Coldplay as that week’s musical guest. Will there be a skit featuring Baby Yoda that’s maybe a little less family-friendly than the Disney+ show? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Catch Pedro Pascal’s SNL debut on Saturday, February 4 at 10:30 p.m. ET on NBC, and watch the Season 3 premiere of The Mandalorian March 1 exclusively on Disney+.

Next. Pedro Pascal won’t spoil The Mandalorian Season 3, and neither should you. dark
