The Mandalorian release schedule: When to expect Season 3 episodes

It’s been over two years since Din Djarin and Grogu (aka Baby Yoda) last graced the small screen in their own show. Though they appeared in the back half of The Book of Boba Fett, there hasn’t been a new episode of The Mandalorian since December 2020.

Now Season 3 is fast approaching, and you’re probably wondering about the release schedule — especially since both Visions Volume 2 and The Bad Batch Season 2 are both going to be releasing episodes around the same time as new episodes of The Mandalorian.

Here’s what we know.

How many episodes of the Mandalorian Season 3 are there?

So far, each season of The Mandalorian has consisted of eight episodes or “chapters.” Season 3 will also contain eight episodes total, bringing the total episode count for the show up to 24.

Because episodes are categorized as chapters, Season 3 begins with “Chapter 17” instead of Season 3, Episode 1.

If Season 3 follows the same release schedule as its two previous seasons — a one-episode premiere and one-episode finale — the season will premiere at the beginning of March and conclude in the middle of April.

• Chapter 17 (season premiere) – March 1
• Chapter 18 – March 8
• Chapter  19 – March 15
• Chapter 20 – March 22
• Chapter 21 – March 29
• Chapter 22 – April 5
• Chapter 23 – April 12
• Chapter 24 (season finale) –  April 19

All episodes of The Mandalorian are expected to release Wednesday mornings at midnight PST on Disney+, though Star Wars Celebration may alter that schedule slightly (Obi-Wan Kenobi ended up moving its release date and premiere time during Celebration in 2022, and this could happen again depending on scheduling).

It’s going to be a big season for Mando, Grogu, and other fan-favorite characters. Chances are high we’re in for a wild, fun adventure. Will Grogu’s Force powers grow? Will Din finally learn how to use the darksaber properly? How mad is Bo-Katan, really? We’ll find out soon enough.
