A new Star Wars book is coming this October from an author fans will definitely recognize — about a character even more fans have already fallen in love with.
EK Johnston, the writer of both Ahsoka and the Padmé trilogy, just announced a new Star Wars project earlier today. The new young adult book, titled Crimson Climb, looks to follow Qi’ra during her time in the Crimson Dawn syndicate.
It is due to release sometime this October. Other than that no further details are currently known.
Personally, I think this book will be a prequel to Solo showing us how Qi’ra rose through the ranks of Crimson Dawn. It’s also possible that the book could be a Solo sequel but I feel like that’s a little more unlikely. And there’s still a possibility it could be told through a time jump with both periods which I think would be a very cool way to tell her story.
I suspect that we will learn more details about this book during Star Wars Celebration in April.
The book is expected to release sometime in October 2023. Johnston’s latest book, the conclusion to what many fans call the Queen’s Trilogy, released last April. If Crimson Climb follows in a similar genre to Johnston’s previous Star Wars titles, the story will take a closer look at Qi’ra as a character and show her facing major challenges in order to grow.
Many fans are speculating the book will take place during the time period between Solo: A Star Wars Story and when we later reunite with Qi’ra in the War of the Bounty Hunters series and related comics.
