New Star Wars comics this week: Doctor Aphra, Yoda, and The High Republic Adventures

What can make a short week (at least in the States) even better? NEW COMIC BOOK DAY!!! Once again, we take a moment to highlight the new Star Wars comics that are released today—both new in print and newly available on Marvel Unlimited. Let’s not waste any time!

New Star Wars Comics: Doctor Aphra #29, Yoda #4, and The High Republic Adventures: The Nameless Terror #1

First up, from Marvel, is Doctor Aphra #29. The Crimson Dawn is in the sights of the Spark Eternal! Can Doctor Aphra’s last-ditch effort to intercept it succeed as Sana Starros and Magna Tolvan race to do so? Or will she be permanently lost to the Spark Eternal?

Doctor Aphra #29 is written by Alyssa Wong and illustrated by Natacha Bustos, with cover art by Ema Lupacchino.

Marvel’s second book this week stars everyone’s favorite lil’ green Jedi, Yoda! In Yoda #4, years before the Clone Wars, Yoda asks Master Dooku, an old acquaintance, to join him in training the next wave of Jedi. Master Yoda will need all the assistance he can get since one of his students is plagued by weird visions.

Yoda #4 is written by Jody Houser and illustrated by Luke Ross, with cover art by Phil Noto.

Finally, from Dark Horse, comes The High Republic: The Nameless Terror #1! There are shadows hiding in the galaxy even amid the bright light of the High Republic. A Jedi mission to the planet Dalna is abruptly attacked by unidentified attackers. It becomes immediately apparent that the knights are not in a secure location as they withdraw to an old building. Something horrible, a merciless predator, an unidentified fear, a Nameless Fear, stalks the ruins!

The High Republic: The Nameless Terror #1 is written by George Mann and illustrated by Eduardo Mello and Ornella Savarese, who also illustrate the cover!

New to Marvel Unlimited: Hidden Empire #1, Han Solo & Chewbacca #7, and Doctor Aphra #26

It’s a BIG Marvel Unlimited day for Star Wars comics! First up is the first issue of Hidden Empire! As Emperor Palpatine becomes aware of the extent of Lady Qi’ra’s plots against him and makes efforts to eliminate her, Qi’ra and her enigmatic organization, Crimson Dawn, have become the most wanted criminals in the galaxy. Yet, Qi’ra still has some cunning plans, and she will put up a fight with the support of the Knights of Ren and her numerous other allies.

Hidden Empire #1 is written by Charles Soule and illustrated by Steven Cummings, with cover art by Paulo Siqueira.

Meanwhile, in Han Solo & Chewbacca #7, we see the return of… well, you’re going to have to read to find out! Chewie conducts a daring prison break despite being outnumbered and outgunned! You won’t believe who is after Greedo while he is on the run! [REDACTED] is back! And, uh oh, they are MAD!

Han Solo & Chewbacca #7 is written by Marc Guggenheim and illustrated by Paul Fry, with cover art by Phil Noto.

Finally, you can catch up on Doctor Aphra, through issue #26, before picking up the newest issue today. The Spark Eternal has been surrounded by Sana Starros and her companions! Whatever it takes, she will do whatever it takes to have Doctor Aphra back! But will it be sufficient? Or will it kill Sana, Aphra, and everyone else they care about?
