The Mandalorian may soon reveal who saved Grogu during the Clone Wars.
According to Star Wars- CoveredGeekly, Star Wars Japan has confirmed that Season 3 of The Mandalorian will reveal who actually saved Grogu during Order 66. According to the tweet, fans will finally find out who took Grogu from the Jedi Temple on Coruscant during Anakin’s assault on the younglings. The promos and official trailers have consistently teased fans with flashbacks of Grogu in the Jedi temple with shots of several Jedi with lightsabers, as seen from Grogu’s point of view.
Answers as to who saved Grogu from certain death has been something fans have long hoped would come sooner rather than later. In Chapter 13, “The Jedi”, Ahsoka first told Din about Grogu’s past. She revealed that he was raised on Coruscant and trained by many Jedi Masters over the years before Order 66. Someone saved him from the temple, but after that he never found peace until Din saved him. Grogu spent most of his time hiding his powers and the Empire took his blood repeatedly for reasons that are not yet clear.
It’s probably linked to cloning, the Empire’s secret project. Why Grogu taken specifically is something that isn’t clear yet, apart from his force sensitivity and midichlorians. It’s likely to be due to the fact that he was a child and mostly defenseless once he stopped using the force.
Exactly who initially saved Grogu from the Jedi Temple has remained a mystery for so long and the question is, why? What happened to that person after they saved Grogu, and how did he end up in the wrong hands instead of being protected? His ultimate savior ended up being Din, and the memories which had he’d blocked out due to trauma were unlocked by Luke Skywalker during their time together. The Book Of Boba Fett Chapter 6 was the first time fans got to see flashbacks of Grogu witnessing the attack on the Jedi Temple, but the flashbacks were obviously incomplete.
The Mandalorian returns next Wednesday, March 1st on Disney+ and this means Grogu’s entire backstory will likely be shown for the first time ever very soon.
