The two main characters in The Mandalorian Season 3 already have a complicated relationship — and it might get even more tangled soon.

Star Wars Japan has hinted that The Mandalorian Season 3 will reveal a secret connection between Din Djarin and Bo Katan Kryze. This information was shared by Star Wars- CoveredGeekly on their Twitter account. There’s no hint as to what this connection might be, only that it has to do with their past. How these two are connected is really hard to guess. Bo Katan is from Clan Kryze and the sister of Duchess Satine Kryze, former Mandalorian ruler, and slain by Darth Maul.

Din Djarin was saved by a Mandalorian belonging to “The Children of the Watch”. He was raised by them and eventually trained to become a Mandalorian. “The Watch” have strict rules about removing helmets. Din removed his helmet willingly twice in The Mandalorian Season 2. During The Book Of Boba Fett, after a duel between Din and Paz Vizsla involving the Darksaber, the Armorer questioned both of them about whether they had ever removed their helmets. Din confessed that he had, and was declared a “Mandalorian no more”. Now an apostate, Din is headed to Mandalore in Season 3. According to the Armorer’s words in The Book Of Boba Fett, the only way Din can be forgiven for his sins is if he swims in the living waters underneath the mines of Mandalore, but the mines have all been destroyed.

Din remains undeterred by that and is headed to Mandalore to be forgiven for his “transgressions” in Season 3. Now with a past connection being teased between Din and Bo Katan, the plot only thickens. The two are already at odds, and Bo Katan doesn’t seem too pleased to see him based on the trailer. After all, she’s long sought the Darksaber and clearly wants to rule Mandalore, and Din is in her way.

Whether this past connection is something huge that changes everything, or whether it’s something positive or negative is now the question. These questions will all be answered in The Mandalorian Season 3 which starts next week only on Disney+.
