13. Zam Wesell

One cannot simply discuss Attack of the Clones without discussing the Clawdite bounty hunter Zam Wesell who played a part in Jango Fett’s attempt to assassinate Senator Padmé Amidala.

Zam Wesell was played by Leeanna Walsman, who can be seen when the Clawdite takes the appearance of a humanoid woman. Wesell had the unique ability to change her appearance because she was a changeling, who assumed different identities to track down her targets and fool others.

Wesell was responsible for the death of Padme’s handmaiden Cordé, after she bombed the Senator’s cruises when it arrived in Coruscant. Despite being hired by Fett to take out the senator herself, Wesell employed an assassin droid to attempt to kill Padmé with kouhuns, which failed when Anakin Skywalker realized what was happening.

After failing to kill Padmé, Kenobi, and Skywalker pursued Wesell and eventually captured her. Wesell attempted to shoot Obi-Wan Kenobi, but he sliced off her arm with his lightsaber before she could pull the trigger. While the pair of Jedi were interrogating her about who hired her, Jango Fett shot her with a saberdart which killed her.

Her dying words are an iconic quote throughout the Star Wars fandom: “Wee shahnit… sleemo.”
