17. Sebulba

Sebulba was another podracer from The Phantom Menace. In the film, he appears in a massive orange podracer, which he used to push other competitors out of his way. But that wasn’t his only cunning tactic, he also had an illegal flamethrower that was installed on his engine, which allowed him to not just wreck his opponents, but set them on fire too.

His main competitor in the Boonta Eve Classic podrace ended up being Anakin Skywalker, who he nearly knocked out of the race near the final lap. One misstep, however, caused Sebulba to wreck his own podracer, leading Skywalker to a hard-one victory, which also earned him his freedom from slavery.

The character was entirely created from CGI and voiced by Lewis MacLeod, who also voiced his subsequent appearances. Sebulba appeared in several now-Legends comic books including Episode 1 Adventures and the 1998 Star Wars comic series. He has also appeared in a number of video games including the LEGO Star Wars games, Star Wars Episode I: Racer, and Star Wars: Bounty Hunter.

Surprisingly, Sebulba makes an appearance in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, however, they aren’t substantial appearances. He is simply depicted on posters in the series.
