20. Gideon Hask

If you haven’t played Star Wars: Battlefront II, then you probably have no idea who Gideon Hask is or his connection to Operation Cinder or Iden Versio. Gideon Hask was a simple starfighter pilot before he joined the ranks of the elite commando unit of the Galactic Empire known as the Inferno Squad.

Following the destruction of the second Death Star, he was assigned to Operation: Cinder, which was Emperor Palpatine’s orbital bombardment campaign, which was designed to assault numerous planets in the event of his death. Hask was part of the Battle of Jakku and, twenty-nine years following it, he went on to join the First Order.

He had a complicated relationship with Iden Version, who had defected from the Empire alongside her eventual husband Del Meeko. Eventually, he apprehended Meeko and, in an act of revenge, he killed him to punish Iden for defecting all those years ago.

When he finally confronts Iden Versio, alongside her daughter Zay, he taunts her and tries to goad her into shooting him. Iden ends up shooting him and he plummets off the catwalk, into the ship’s hyperdrive core below them. Honestly, why doesn’t the Empire or the First Order have guard rails on their catwalks? That can’t be OSHA-approved.
