24 Star Wars characters only true fans will remember
3. Constable Zuvio
On the topic of characters from The Force Awakens, Constable Zuvio had a lot of hype in the lead-up to the first film in the sequel trilogy, including an exclusive first look at his character design in Empire. They revealed that he lived on Jakku and that he was a vigilant law officer who kept order at a frontier trading post, which is most likely the same trading post we saw Rey at in the film. Empire even discussed that he was “tough and humorless” implying that, at one time, the character must have had dialogue!
As merchandise for The Force Awakens began to emerge, Constable Zuvio was everywhere. There were Black Series collectibles from Hasbro, 3 3/4 inch figures, and trading cards, but by the time the film premiered in theaters all traces of the good Constable had been eradicated.
In typical Star Wars fandom fashion, fans were instantly drawn to the mysterious figure. Fan merchandise cropped up, depicting the character on blue milk cartons as “Missing,” humorous articles were posted, and some fans never stopped talking about him. Recently, in the latest issue of Star Wars: The High Republic: Adventures, a Kyuzo Jedi, wearing a similar headpiece to Zuvio, made an appearance, which delighted diehard fans of Constable Zuvio.
